Documents can be submitted:

- in person

If the applicant has already provided his own fingerprints can delegate another person to submit his visa application only in the following cases:
– by one of the family members with the documents confirming a relationship (marriage certificate for spouses, birth certificate for parents and children) — in original in and copy.
– if an applicant is living outside Moscow and the Moscow region documents can be submitted either by the applicant in person or by a person acting under the power of attorney. Authorized representatives should present the following documents: notarized power of attorney (original and 3 copies), 3 copies of national or international passport.

For applicants living in Moscow and Moscow region documents can not be submitted by a person acting under the power of attorney.

Invitation Letter from Private School

In case the duration of the visa applied for is more than 90 days, please present two sets of documents (the original and a copy). Also visa fee in amount of 50 euro is to be paid.

1. Invitation Letter from Private School needs to include the following information:

• duration of the course
• description of the course
• weekly hours (not less than 20)
• availability of suitable accommodation (in Italy)
In case the invitation does not indicate the availability of suitable accommodation it is necessary to attach a declaration made by a private individual stating he/she is willing to make available to the applicant suitable accommodation for the first year of study. Please attach also a copy of a valid identity document of the person signing such declaration.

or 
Document proving the hotel booking, including address and phone number of the hotel, the length of the intended stay and the personal data (surname, name) of all the applicants.

or 
The original and a copy of the rental agreement and a copy of the Italian passport or identity card of the owner.

2. Certificate of acceptance/enrollment or pre-enrollment from the school in Italy.

3. Certificate proving payment of course fees.

4.Degree certificate (copy).
The course to be attended in Italy needs to be in a field consistent with the previous study curriculum and needs to aim at deepening the specialization in the studies already completed. In case the specialization of the applicant is not consistent with the planned course – an explanatory letter in English or Italian outlining the motivations to attend such course should be attached.

5. Travel vouchers/reservations for the first trip or open round trip ticket.
If the course lasts more than 90 days single ticket should be provided.
If the course lasts less than 90 days round trip ticket should be provided.

6. Medical Insurance coverage for Schengen countries.

In order to apply for an Italian visa it is mandatory to have and show proof of adequate medical insurance coverage for Schengen countries. The minimum medical coverage is at least 30,000 € (Euro). In some cases a higher coverage may be required.

The International Medical Insurance policy can be purchased directly at the VMS Visa Center with the following advantages:

  • Waiting time reduced to the minimum.
  • Insurance coverage available from Euro 30,000 up to Euro 100,000.
  • The payment is made in rubles at the official rate set by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation at the time of the issuance of the policy without any surcharge.

In case the course lasts more than 90 days the applicant needs to present valid insurance policy for the first 8-30 days; in case the course lasts up to 90 days the insurance policy needs to cover the entire intended duration of the stay.

7. Copy of applicant’s passport page containing holder’s data and validity.

8. Application form with a recent passport-size photograph.

Application form should be filled in block letters in English or Italian and duly signed. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, the form must be signed by both parents.

Photo specifications
Colour photo on white background, 3x4cm or 3,5×4,5 cm.

9. Private financial guarantees.
The minimum available daily financial resources are euro 28 (only for the first academic year).

Any of the following documents will be considered sufficient 
proof of financial resources:
• Applicant’s original Bank account statement (in any currency). Bank account statement is valid not more than 30 days.
• Applicant’s original and copy of the savings account.
 Copy of the Applicant’s credit card and ATM receipt including account balance. ATM receipt is valid at most 3 days from the day it was taken from ATM to the day of the document submission.
Sponsorship is not accepted.

10. Portfolio course certificates/diplomas, sketches, drawings.

13. Consent for processing the personal data. 

For each applicant including child a separate form of the consent for processing personal data in original is required. For applicants under 18 years old consent is filled and signed by one of the parents or legal guardian indicating his data in corresponding field. Consent can be both handwritten or filled on computer.

448.52 euro per month (for the first academic year).  Cash and letters of sponsorship from the third person are not accepted as a financial guarantee. In case an applicant got educational grant from Italian government or international scientific or cultural funds, sum of financial resources is counted less grant sum. Information about educational grant is obligatory to be mentioned either in the invitation letter from the university or in a separate letter (original+copy). 

Any of the following documents will be considered sufficient proof of financial resources:
• Applicant’s original Bank account statement (in any currency). Bank account statement is valid not more than 30 days.
• Applicant’s original and copy of the savings account.
 Copy of the Applicant’s credit card and ATM receipt including account balance. ATM receipt is valid at most 3 days from the day it was taken from ATM to the day of the document submission.

Student exchange program invitation between Educational Institutions.

This type of visa is provided both for students and for lectures.

1. Invitation from an Italian University.

2. Copy of the cooperation agreement between Universities.

3. Provide documents proving the association of an applicant to the university such as reference from University or work, covering letter from University (any scientific projects, degree work).

4. Rent contract or invitation for the first year of education or hotel booking if duration of the trip is not more than 90 days , if not mentioned in invitation from University.

5. Travel vouchers/reservations for the first trip or open round trip ticket.
In case the course lasts more than 90 days single ticket should be provided.
In case the course lasts less than 90 days round trip ticket should be provided.

Invitation for Undertaking an Examination

1. Notification from the University for taking exams. (it should be sent either by the University or by Italian Culture University)

2. Proof of appropriate lodging arrangements. (For the period of stay till 31st January)
The rental agreement and a copy of the Italian passport or identity card of the apartment owner.
or
letter of invitation from Italian citizen and copy of his passport or identity card
or
letter of invitation from foreign citizen and copy of his permit of stay.

3. Single ticket.

4. International medical insurance valid for all the Schengen territory.
The minimum medical coverage is at least 30,000 € (Euro).
Medical insurance should be valid for the first 8-30 days of stay.
